We recommend booking your DJ 9–15 months before your event, especially for popular spring and fall Saturdays. However, availability can vary, so it never hurts to reach out even if your celebration is coming up sooner.

-
Most weddings require approximately five to seven hours of active DJ coverage, depending on whether the DJ is providing music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and reception. We’ll review your timeline and recommend coverage based on the actual flow of your celebration.
-
Professional MC services, ceremony audio and dance-floor lighting are included in our standard wedding service. Additional production such as venue uplighting, disco-ball installation, specialized lighting or live musicians can be included depending on your venue and vision.
-
Some events require additional costs for extended travel, overtime, difficult access or multiple sound systems. We review these details before providing your agreement so you understand exactly what is included. There are no surprise charges added on the wedding day.
-
We combine your preferences with our experience reading the room. Your favorite genres, must-play songs and do-not-play list establish the direction, while the energy and response of your guests help guide what we play throughout the celebration.
-
As involved as you want to be. Some couples provide detailed playlists, while others share a few favorite artists and trust us to take it from there. We’ll learn your taste and create a music blueprint that feels personal without requiring you to select every song.
-
You do not need to choose enough songs for the entire wedding. A focused list of approximately 10–20 must-play songs, along with favorite artists and genres, usually gives us plenty of direction. You can always provide more if music selection is an important part of your planning process.
Additional enhancements such as venue uplighting, disco-ball production and live musicians can be included depending on your celebration.
-
Yes. We’re happy to consider guest requests when they fit your preferences and the energy of the event. Requests are not automatic promises, and your must-play and do-not-play instructions always take priority.
-
Yes, but it does not need to be extensive. Include any songs, artists or genres you strongly dislike or do not want associated with your celebration. A focused list gives us clear boundaries without limiting our ability to adapt to the dance floor.
-
Yes. We help structure entrances, speeches, dinner, special dances and open dancing so the evening develops naturally. We also coordinate with your planner, photographer, caterer and venue team to make sure everyone is prepared before each important moment.
-
Yes. Professional MC service is included. We make important announcements, introduce key moments and guide guests through the evening. Our approach is polished, warm and intentional, without unnecessary jokes, games or excessive talking.
-
A strong dance floor is built by reading the room, mixing genres thoughtfully and adjusting before the energy begins to drop. We pay attention to who is responding, what generations are present and how each song affects the room instead of relying on a predetermined playlist.

Wedding Experiences
-
Groove Approved creates immersive Los Angeles wedding DJ experiences through personalized music curation, thoughtful planning, professional MC services, lighting design, and live musicians. Rather than relying on the same playlists every weekend, every wedding is intentionally designed around your relationship, your guests, and the atmosphere you want to create. Our goal is simple: create a celebration that feels authentically yours and leaves a lasting impression long after the final song.
-
At Groove Approved, keeping the dance floor full starts long before your wedding day. We learn your favorite music, understand your guests, and carefully build a soundtrack that matches the energy of your celebration. By reading the room, mixing live, and making thoughtful song selections in real time, we create natural momentum that keeps guests engaged from the first dance until the last song.
-
Absolutely. No two Groove Approved weddings are ever the same. Every playlist, timeline, lighting design, and live entertainment experience is customized around your personalities, traditions, and vision. Additional enhancements such as venue uplighting, disco-ball production and live musicians can be included depending on your celebration.
-
Every Groove Approved wedding begins with conversation. We take time to learn about your relationship, favorite artists, family traditions, cultural celebrations, and the overall experience you want your guests to have. That collaborative planning process shapes everything from ceremony music and cocktail hour to the final song of the night.
-
Once your date is reserved via 50% deposit, Groove Approved guides you through a collaborative planning process that includes music planning, timeline development, vendor communication, and final event preparation. As your wedding approaches, we'll coordinate with your planner and venue to ensure every detail is organized so you can relax and enjoy your celebration.
-
Your wedding only happens once. While every couple has a budget, the entertainment is one of the few parts of your celebration that every guest experiences from beginning to end. At Groove Approved, you're investing in far more than someone to play music. You're hiring a professional Los Angeles wedding DJ who provides personalized music curation, experienced MC services, thoughtful planning, professional sound systems, lighting design, and seamless coordination with your venue and vendor team.
A lower-priced DJ may simply show up and play songs. Groove Approved focuses on creating an experience. From your ceremony and cocktail hour to the final dance, we help shape the energy of the day, keep your timeline moving smoothly, adapt to unexpected changes, and create memorable moments that feel natural and authentic. When the music, atmosphere, and guest experience truly matter, investing in the right wedding DJ can make all the difference.
-
Wedding timelines rarely unfold exactly as planned, and that's perfectly normal. Groove Approved stays flexible throughout the day, communicating with your planner and vendor team while adjusting music, announcements, and timing in real time. Our goal is to keep your celebration feeling effortless, regardless of unexpected changes.
-
At Groove Approved, we believe the best weddings are built around people, not playlists. Music has the power to bring generations together, create unforgettable memories, and shape the atmosphere of an entire celebration.
